Not all of us are blessed with green fingers, but a indoor plant looks very cozy in the house … Do you want the pleasure but not the burden? Below we have compiled a list of 10 easy indoor plants for the greenies among us. To make it extra simple, we’ll give you some tips on how to become a budding plant pro after all.
Cactus
If there’ s a plant who is easy it’ s our spiky friend, the cactus. The ideal houseplant for anyone who sometimes forgets to water. This Euphorbia cactus can go for a month without water. The Cactus is used to a drier climate and also doesn’t really care how much light he gets. He is not the hardest. ♥
Zamioculas
This plant goes by many names. Zamioculcas Zamiifolia, ZZ plant or Emerald palm. It doesn’t really matter to this one. Just like the amount of light and water for that matter. So you have little to worry about with this easy houseplant. If you would like to put your friend in a nice light spot, you will notice that this ZZ plant grows just a bit faster.
Dracaena
Dracaenas are indoor plants that can take a hit. These easy plants come in all shapes and sizes. The choice is enormous! They need little water and also purify your air. Give them a (semi-)shady spot and you won’t hear them complain.
Sansevieria
Sansevierias are desert plants and goes well with a little dryness. These houseplants also have few demands in terms of sun. All the water you give them will be stored in their leaves.
Do not water this green friend until its soil is completely dry. It is best to leave this plant in its cultivation pot. The holes in the pot allow excess water to drain away, preventing the roots of the plant from rotting.
Monstera
Are you looking for an easy plant for your little home? Then keep your eye on this green friend! This perforated plant does not need that much water and likes somewhat less sunny spots. Make sure that the soil of your Monstera Deliciosa stays moist and he will reward you with new leaves.
Epipremnum Aureum
This one is a real femme fatale. With a spot in the (semi-)shade and an occasional sip of water, this hanging plant will be satisfied. Is the Epipremnum Aureum without water for too long? Then she will let you know immediately with her drooping leaves. As soon as you treat her to another sip, she’ll be back to her old self in no time. Handy reminder, right?
Yucca
For someone who knows absolutely nothing about plants, the Yucca is the perfect plant match. He is also known as the palm lily. Pretty special, since this plant is not related to the palm at all. This guy doesn’t need much water. When Yucca’s trunk feels soft at the potting soil you know you give it too much water. This Yucca doesn’t mind a little sunshine, by the way!
Peperomia Obtusifolia
House plants like the members of the Peperomia family are known to be able to handle a little rough handling. A plant with nice little care requirements. Give this Peperomia Obtusifolia a spot with little or no direct sunlight, a little water now and then and it will be happy. This easy houseplant is also pet-friendly. Ideal!
Terrarium
Looking for a DIY plant project? Then perhaps a terrarium is for you. These terrariums, planted in glass, have created their own ecosystem. Sit back and relax!
Air Plants
It doesn’t get any easier than this. Air plants such as the Tillandsias filter their own water from the air. These super-simple air plants don’t even need potting soil. Unbelievable. You will make these air plants happy if you treat them to a refreshing spray with your plant sprayer once every two weeks. Is that too much to ask?
Many of us will recognize these plants. It is no coincidence that everyone has the same plants in their homes. Maybe you have a few of them in your living room – I am guilty of having 4 of these plants 😉 – But besides being easy to maintain, they are also nice to look at… and isn’t that worth a lot?
